Uzbek President meets with Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 6 September, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Sapar Isakov in Bishkek on 6 September within the framework of the state visit to the Kyrgyz Republic.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Sapar Isakov on his appointment as Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Shavkat Mirziyev said that Uzbekistan attaches great importance to building up bilateral cooperation and improving good-neighborly relations with Kyrgyzstan.

In addition, Uzbek President stressed the need for close cooperation between the leaders of the border regions of the two countries for prompt resolution of emerging issues on the ground and intensification of activities within the framework of the intergovernmental commission.

Sapar Isakov noted the great importance of the state visit of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan and stressed that this event opened a new stage in mutually beneficial cooperation of our states.

“Uzbekistan is one of the priorities of Kyrgyzstan’s foreign policy,” Sapar Isakov, the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, said.

At the meeting, the sides expressed confidence that the agreements, reached during the visit and the agreements concluded, will contribute to the all-round strengthening of historically friendly and good-neighborly relations between our peoples.

Within the framework of the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on the organization of the Council of Khokims of the Border Regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan and authorized representatives of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in the border areas.
