Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed to achieve GDP growth of 2% and higher in 2020. This goal was set by the head of Uzbekistan during a meeting on 9 June.
Jamshid Kuchkarov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction, said in an interview with Uzbekistan 24 that the President also set a target to increase industrial production by 3.5%.
According to him, for this, the activities of enterprises that have suspended work due to quarantine will be resumed. Also, enterprises will be provided with working capital.
Kuchkarov noted that it is also planned to revise interest rates on loans. Soon the corresponding decision will be made by the Central Bank.
Subsidies for transportation costs and other measures will be provided to support exporters, he added.
