Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 1 November, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, who is in our country on a working visit as part of a meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of Government.
The head of our state, warmly welcoming the guest, noted with deep satisfaction the dynamic development of Uzbek-Russian relations based on the traditions of centuries-old friendship, trust, mutual respect and support.
Dmitry Medvedev, expressing his sincere gratitude to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the cordial welcome and attention paid to the comprehensive building of multifaceted relations between the two states, conveyed greetings and best wishes from the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that intensive contacts and constructive dialogue, primarily at the highest level, contributed to bringing bilateral cooperation to an unprecedented level and filling it with new practical content.
The progressive development of trade, economic, investment and cooperation ties was noted with satisfaction. Promising projects are being carried out in the oil and gas, energy, transport, agricultural and other sectors. Interregional and cultural-humanitarian exchanges are expanding, including in the field of science, education and tourism.
An exchange of views also took place on topical issues of the regional and international agenda. Mutual desire was expressed to deepen cooperation within the framework of the UN, SCO, CIS and other multilateral structures.
The issues of preparation for the upcoming events at the highest level were discussed.
Mutual commitment was confirmed to further strengthen relations of strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia.
