Uzbek President awards group of gifted youth

Uzbek leader awarded a group of the youth for their contribution to raising authority and prestige of the country in international arena, showing professional skills and bright talents in achieving high sport results.

Islam Karimov awarded a title “Uzbekistan iftihori” (Honour of Uzbekistan) to midfielder Pakhtakor Abbosbek Makhstaliev and member of national team of Uzbekistan on chess Nafisa Muminova.

Uzbekistan number one tennis player Denis Istomin received title “Honoured athlete of Uzbekistan”. Three more athletes – Zamirjon Sanoqulova (gymnast), Mirzohid Farmonov (judoka) and Muradjon Halmurotov (cyclist) – also received the title.

For their fruitful work, initiative and outstanding achievements in strengthening the independence, improving the economic, intellectual and spiritual potential of the Homeland, worthy contribution to the protection of national interests and peace, as well as active participation in public life, the group of the youth was awarded the order Dustlik and medals Jasorat, Sodiq Hizmatlari Uchun, and Shuhrat. Overall, 21 people received orders and medals.
