Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 3 December, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov met with the Parliamentary Deputy Minister of Land Use, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan S. Sasaki.

Within the framework of the meeting, issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of transport were discussed - profile Japanese companies are currently interested in implementing large-scale projects both to modernize existing and build new infrastructure.

During the meeting, the Japanese side emphasized that the development of the national economy and the living standards of the population in any country substantially depend on the degree of infrastructure development.

According to S. Sasaki, investments in the construction and expansion of transport and communication networks and facilities for servicing passenger and freight flows will give a powerful impetus to the development of tourism and freight transportation.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on further cooperation, with the goal of strengthening the presence of Japanese companies in the Uzbek market and their successful partnership with Uzbek companies in the implementation of joint projects.
