Uzbek MPs to Receive 412 Million Soums for Local Green Zones

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in a tree-planting event as part of the nationwide “Yashil Makon” project and officially launched the National Dendrological Park in Tashkent.

During the event, the President proposed expanding public and parliamentary participation in creating local green spaces. Previously, the “My Garden” program allocated up to 250 million soums per project. This amount has now been increased to 400 million soums. Each green garden or public park will receive up to one hectare of land, selected by residents, located near their homes, and equipped with water supply.

Starting this season, each deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis will be provided with 412 million soums to establish a green zone or garden in their electoral district. The initiative aims to enhance parliamentarians’ involvement in the improvement and greening of urban and rural areas.
