Uzbek Minister Meets Outgoing Japanese Ambassador to Discuss Investment and Industrial Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 3 October 2025, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, met with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan Takashi Hatori, who is concluding his diplomatic mission in the country.
During the meeting, both sides noted a 54% increase in bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and Japan over the past five years, highlighting the significant contribution to strengthening economic and trade relations.
Currently, 108 companies with Japanese capital operate successfully in Uzbekistan, implementing projects across various sectors.
The discussion emphasized Ambassador Hatori’s active role in fostering intergovernmental dialogue, supporting investment initiatives, and promoting projects in industry, energy, and education.
The meeting concluded with both parties acknowledging the high level of achieved cooperation and expressing confidence in the continued expansion of collaboration in key economic sectors.
