Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Nematov met with the Executive Director of the Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) Habibullo Mirzozoda.

Mr. Mirzozoda arrived in Uzbekistan on 2 November to attend the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of Government (Prime Ministers) of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Tashkent.

During the conversation, a wide range of issues related to the interaction of Uzbekistan and the CICA was discussed, including the activation of the role of our country in the organization.

Habibullo Mirzozoda praised the participation of the Uzbek delegation in the Summit of the CICA Heads of State on June 15 this year in Dushanbe and the initiatives put forward by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. He emphasized the importance for all 27 countries participating in the Meeting of the ideas of the head of our state on the need to jointly counteract the radicalization of youth and establish dialogue in the field of interreligious interaction.

The proposal of Uzbekistan on coordination within the framework of the CICA of cooperation in scientific, educational, cultural and humanitarian spheres was highlighted.

Other issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.
