Uzbek Manufacturer Vektan Chemical to Open Plant in the United States
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Vektan Chemical, an Uzbek producer of synthetic wax, has announced the launch of its first manufacturing facility in the United States, in Hitchcock, Texas, according to U.S. media reports.
The 35,000-square-foot production facility was recently acquired, the Hitchcock Economic Development Corporation (HEDC) reported.
City authorities estimate that the new plant will create jobs and generate an economic impact of US$ 900,000 for the local budget over 10 years.
City Manager Mary Gelles noted that the company will become one of the largest employers in the region.
Founded in 2016, Vektan Chemical plans to invest more than US$ 7 million in capital expenditures.
Vektan Chemical CEO Anvar Turdibaev emphasized the importance of support from HEDC, the Greater Houston Partnership, and the U.S. Department of Commerce in the site selection process and expressed the company’s intention to become a long-term partner of Hitchcock’s industrial community.
