Uzbek leader calls to cutting imports, increasing exports

During the event, it was noted that some companies increased the imports of goods, including raw materials, despite that the country produces them.

Uzbek President said that these are leading to inefficient use of the currency resources. He said that hard currency should be directed to implementation of investment projects and creation of new jobs.

It was noted that the officials will be penalized for unreasonable growth of imports, especially in the cases when the Uzbek producers can offer similar products.

The video-conference participants discussed issues related to increase the volume of exports and use untapped reserves in this area.
