Uzbek, Latvian FM discuss ties in Tashkent

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs arrived in Uzbekistan with official visit to hold bilateral meetings and negotiations, Uzbek ministry said.

During the talks, the sides considered implementation of agreements, reached at the results of bilateral negotiations at high level and other actual issues of the Uzbek-Latvian relations, including in format of Uzbekistan and the European Union.

Ministers acknowledged importance of continuation of practice on holding consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs to consider concrete proposals on further development of cooperation in politics, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and other areas.

The sides also exchanged opinion on other international and regional issues.

The Latvian Ambassador Igors Apokins attended the meeting.
