Uzbek-Japanese business forum takes place in Tashkent

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe participated in the opening ceremony of the forum.

The Japanese business circles received information on social-economic reforms in Uzbekistan, development of small and private businesses, preferences for foreign investors, including in special industrial zones Navoi, Jizzakh and Angren. The Uzbek and Japanese entrepreneurs also considered implementation of the joint projects in various areas of economy.

The participants also discussed issues of developing trade-economic and investment cooperation in sectors such as energy, banking and finance, information technology, transport and communications, health, tourism, food processing, light industry, science and education were discussed at the he business forum.

At the end of the forum, the businesses of two states signed agreements of cooperation in such areas as energy, oil and gas, chemical industry, geology, banking and finance, medical, tourism, agriculture, automotive industry.
