Uzbek Health Ministry denies rumors about paid services in family polyclinics

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan has clarified that reports claiming medical services in family polyclinics will become paid starting from the New Year are false.

Social media posts have circulated suggesting that residents must visit polyclinics by December 31 with their passports and birth certificates to register in the DMED system, otherwise services would supposedly be charged. The Ministry emphasized that these claims are unfounded.

Currently, 37.7 million residents are already connected to the DMED system, and their electronic medical records are fully formed, making re-registration unnecessary. According to current legislation, medical care in primary healthcare facilities is provided free of charge to the extent guaranteed by the state.

To access free services, citizens should attend medical examinations on schedule and consult their family doctor or medical team, except in cases of emergency or urgent care. If necessary, the family doctor refers the patient to specialists or a hospital through an electronic referral.

The Ministry of Health reminds the public to obtain accurate information about the healthcare system only from its official channels.
