Uzbek Grandmasters Enter Top Ten Worldwide by Prize Earnings in 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbek grandmasters Nodirbek Abdusattorov and Javokhir Sindarov entered the top ten chess players in the world by prize money in 2025.

Nodirbek Abdusattorov ranked ninth in the global standings by total prize earnings. Over the year, he participated in 16 major international tournaments, earning a total of US$361,800. His highest prize from a single event amounted to US$85,000.

Javokhir Sindarov took the tenth spot. In 2025, he competed in 11 international tournaments, with total prize earnings reaching US$349,900. His maximum single-event prize was US$120,000.

The world leader by total prize earnings was Norwegian grandmaster Magnus Carlsen. He played in 16 tournaments and was the only chess player whose total prize earnings in 2025 exceeded US$1 million, reaching US$1.46 million.
