Uzbek Foreign Ministry Warns of Fake Documents in Russia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan has reported cases of citizens submitting counterfeit documents through the country’s consular offices in the Russian Federation.

According to available information, advertisements offering “services” for producing fake documents are actively circulating in Telegram groups and channels.

As a result of the activities of criminal groups, several incidents have been uncovered:

Citizen E.M.R. obtained a forged certificate of return to the homeland and a fake ticket to Uzbekistan. Thanks to the prompt actions of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan, crimes under Articles 322 and 327 of the Russian Criminal Code were prevented.

Citizen O.B.B. forged a marriage certificate with citizen Kh.M.A., on the basis of which he obtained an official birth certificate for child O.M.B. from Russian civil registry offices.

The Foreign Ministry strongly urges Uzbek citizens residing in Russia to apply only to authorized government bodies when processing documents to avoid fraud and other unpleasant situations.
