Uzbek Foreign Minister Receives Copies of Credentials from New Tajik Ambassador
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov received copies of credentials from Tajikistan’s newly appointed ambassador to Uzbekistan, Nasreddin Ismatullo, on Tuesday, according to the Foreign Ministry.
During the meeting, both sides highlighted the shared history and close ties between the two countries and expressed their readiness to further strengthen bilateral relations. Saidov said Uzbekistan and Tajikistan have significant untapped potential for cooperation that requires joint efforts to realize.
The minister also noted the new ambassador’s extensive diplomatic experience and wished him success in his mission in Uzbekistan.
Ismatullo succeeds Abdujabbor Rahmonzoda, who had served as Tajikistan’s ambassador to Uzbekistan since May 2021.
