Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 3 February 2020, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Aydarbekov, who arrived in Tashkent to attend the ministerial meeting of the heads of the foreign affairs agencies of the Central Asian countries and the USA in the format C5 + 1.

The ministers exchanged views on topical issues of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz agenda.

The parties noted the intensification of cooperation in almost all areas. In particular, the mutual trade turnover in 2017-2019 increased by 3.2 times and exceeded US$800 million last year. Contacts between the head of the border regions of the two countries at other levels became regular.

The meeting highlighted the successful outcomes of the Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Heads of State held on 29 November 2019 in Tashkent.
