Uzbek FM receives newly appointed German envoy
The Minister received a copy of credentials from the Ambassador, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.
After the ceremony, the sides discussed current state and perspectives of deepening multidimensional dialogue between Uzbekistan and Germany, actual international and regional issues.
The sides underlined mutual interest in further developing relations in politics, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other regions.
Currently, Germany is one of three largest trade partners of Uzbekistan in Europe. In 2013, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Germany reached US$591.2 million, which rose by 20% year-on-year. Currently, there are 123 enterprises with German investments in Uzbekistan.
At the meeting, the sides considered schedule of upcoming bilateral contacts at various levels, including next round of political consultations and session of other Uzbek-German cooperation institutions.
