Uzbek FM receives new envoy of Finland

The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said that envoy handed over credentials, addressed to the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged opinion on priority directions of bilateral cooperation in various areas and some international and regional issues.

The sides underlined mutual interest in continuing practical regular consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Finland, gradual development of inter-parliamentary relations, including exchange opinion in legislative support of bilateral relations.

Within the discussion of perspectives of deepening trade-economic and investment cooperation, the official pointed to existing untapped potential for implementation of mutual beneficial projects with attraction of advanced Finnish technologies.

At the meeting, the sides considered proposals on expanding contacts among institutions of healthcare, scientific and educational organizations between two nations.
