Uzbek FM receives new Chinese envoy
The Chinese envoy handed over copies of his credentials to the Uzbek Foreign Minister, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.
Within the meeting, the sides exchanged opinion on complex of issues of bilateral cooperation and discussed implementation of earlier reached agreements and perspectives of further deepening multipronged relations.
The sides underlined dynamic character of the Uzbek-Chinese bilateral dialogue, which intensively develops in spirit of the joint declaration of establishing strategic partnership between two states, which was signed within the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov to China in June 2012.
It was noted that the state visit of the Chinese President Xi Jinping in September 2013 and signed agreement on friendship and cooperation and joint declaration on further developing and deepening bilateral relations of strategic partnership strengthened fundamental foundations for cooperation and gave new stimulus for inter-state relations.
The sides expressed mutual interest in strengthening interaction in transport, telecommunication, industry, energy, basic infrastructure and social spheres.
The officials affirmed readiness to assist in expanding fruitful contacts in such areas as higher education, science and technology, culture, art and tourism.
The Uzbek and Chinese officials also considered some international and regional issues.
Sun Lijie is replacing Zhang Xiao at the post of the Chinese envoy to Uzbekistan. Zhang Xiao completed his mission in December 2013.
