Uzbek FM receives German envoy for Central Asia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received Representative of Federal Foreign Office of Germany for Eastern Europe, Transcaucasia and Central Asia Cord Meier-Klodt on 23 July 2014, who arrived in Uzbekistan with his first visit in his new capacity.
During the meeting, the sides discussed current state and priority directions of developing of cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment and other spheres, schedule and agenda of upcoming Uzbek-German contacts at various levels, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.
The sides underlined mutual interest in gradual strengthening of bilateral relations in inter-state format and within exchanges between commercial structures, educational, cultural and educational establishments, as well as representatives of civil society of Uzbekistan and Germany.
It was said that constructive interaction of Uzbekistan and Germany in international arena is connected with close and similar positions on many problems, including such issues as fighting terrorism, organized crime, and illegal drug turnover.
At the meeting, the sides also discussed international and regional issues.
