Uzbek FM receives delegation of Latvia
The delegation of Latvia arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in international conference “Development of cooperation in the Aral Sea Basin to mitigate consequences of environmental catastrophe”, which started its work in Urgench.
During the meeting, the sides considered current state and perspectives of the Uzbek-Latvian cooperation, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.
The sides considered implementation of agreements, reached during the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Latvia in October 2013 and President of Latvia Andris Berzins to Uzbekistan in May 2014.
It was underlined that both countries want to gradually develop mutual relations in political, trade-economic, investment, transport-communication and other spheres.
The sides exchanged opinion on regional and international issues in context of presidency of Latvia in European Union in the first half of 2015.
The officials also considered other issues of mutual interest.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to the Republic of Uzbekistan Edgars Bondars participated in the meeting.
