Uzbek FM receives Baroness Warsi

During the meeting, the sides discussed current state and perspectives of further deepening Uzbek-British political dialogue, as well as course of implement of the earlier reached bilateral agreements,the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

It was underlined that successful development of inter-parliamentary relations within implementation of several projects of the memorandum on understanding between All-party parliament group “Britain – Uzbekistan” and Group of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan on cooperation with British parliament.

The sides expressed mutual interest in strengthening trade-economic contacts between business circles of Uzbekistan and Great Britain.

It was stated that cultural-humanitarian exchanges play important role in the Uzbek-British relations, while activities of Westminster International University in Tashkent and British Council in Uzbekistan play positive role in the relations of two states.

At the meeting, they considered situation in Afghanistan and other actual international and regional issues.

British Ambassador to Uzbekistan George Edgar participated in the negoriations.
