Uzbek FM meets UN Secretary-General

During the meeting, the sides discussed priority directions of interaction between Uzbekistan and the UN, as well as international issues, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.

Ban Ki-Moon said that the UN expresses interest in an international conference “Development of cooperation in Aral Sea Basin to mitigate consequences of environment catastrophe”, which will be held in Uzbekistan in October and expressed his support to its goals.

At the meeting, the sides also discussed other issues of mutual interest of the UN and Uzbekistan.
