Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 25 February 2020, Ambassador Dilyor Khakimov in Belgium met with Pete Sterk, representative of the Flemish Investment and Trade Agency (FIT) in Uzbekistan, to discuss cooperation in order to expand investment and trade cooperation.

As it was noted during the negotiations, the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan open up more business opportunities, primarily for the modernization of industry, the creation of new production capacities based on modern advanced technologies available to the Belgian side.

Pete Sterk confirmed that the Flemish Agency is interested in assisting Belgian companies in establishing mutually beneficial relations with Uzbek partners. In particular, they discussed the details of the upcoming 23-24 April joint visit by the Walloon Export Agency (AWEX) of the delegation of the business community of Flanders and Wallonia to Uzbekistan. It is expected that the delegation will include representatives of more than 20 Belgian companies.

During the meeting, an agreement was reached on working out with the FIT headquarters a more detailed program of measures to establish cooperation between the relevant structures of the two countries.
