Uzbek envoy meets with advisor of the International Development Law Organization

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Benelux countries Dilyor Hakimov met in The Hague (Netherlands) with the program advisor of the International Development Law Organization Mette Jakobsgaard and the head of the international cooperation department of this organization Arthur van Butenen, Dunyo reported.

International Development Law Organization is an intergovernmental organization dedicated to the rule of law. It was founded in 1983. Since 2002, has been a permanent observer to the United Nations. Currently has its representative offices in 18 countries, as well as representative offices at the UN in the cities of Geneva and New York, a branch in The Hague. Members of the organization are 37 states.

Currently, the Organization implements a number of projects in such areas as sustainable development, ensuring the rights of women, the independence of the courts, economic development, inclusiveness and equality, health and food security, the development of civil society institutions, and strengthening the capacity of state institutions.

Currently, the organization’s projects are implemented in countries such as Afghanistan, Honduras, Indonesia, Liberia, Mexico, Moldova, Mongolia, Myanmar, Somalia, Tunisia, Uganda, Ukraine, the Philippines and others. At the same time, the largest number of projects are in countries of Asia, Africa, as well as Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

During the meeting, issues of establishing cooperation and participation of the organization in the implementation of projects in areas of relevance for modern Uzbekistan were considered.

Representatives of an international organization expressed their readiness to receive representatives of Uzbekistan for internships and advanced training.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to work out with the involved ministries and departments of Uzbekistan issues to identify priority areas of cooperation.
