Uzbek envoy holds talks with vice-speaker of Russian Federation Council

The press service of the Federation Council said that the sides considered concrete issues of the agreements, reached during the official visit of the delegation of the Federation Council led by Valentina Matvienko to Uzbekistan.

Ilyas Umahanov said that the visit was fruitful and timely visit and the sides agreed several steps in developing parliamentary ties.

The sides discussed issues, which will be considered at the first joint session of the group on cooperation between the Federation Council of Russia and Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan. The event will be held in Moscow in near future. Umahanov said the friendship group is tested mechanism of bilateral cooperation between parliaments. He said that the Russian side is ready for joint and constructive work.

The Russian Senator said that the preparation works have been started to official visit of the chairperson of the Senate of Oliy Majlis Ilgizar Sobirov to Russia. The corresponding invitation has been handed over during the meeting between the chairperson of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko and Chairperson of Senate Ilgizar Sobirov in Tashkent.

The friendship group between Federation Council and Senate is headed by the first deputy chairperson of the Committee of the Federation Council Vladimir Jabarov and chairperson of the committee of Senate on foreign political issues of Senate Sadik Safaev.
