Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 November 2019, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kuala Lumpur Ravshan Usmanov met with the Vice-Rector of the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) Isarzhi Sarudin.
IIUM was founded in 1983 and today about 30 thousand students from all over the world study in it in English and Arabic.
During the meeting, the Malaysian side was acquainted with the activities of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan (IAU), as well as the reforms carried out in our country in the fields of education, religion, youth policy and socio-economic development. Information was provided on the opening of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent, the Research Center of Imam Bukhari and the Scientific School of Hadith.
In turn, Isarji Sarudin expressed interest in establishing close cooperation between IIUM and the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan in the field of training and advanced training of faculty. The Malaysian side expressed its willingness to attract specialists and teachers from Uzbekistan to give lectures in this university on a contractual basis, as well as exchange students to take short-term courses on a parity basis.
