Uzbek envoy discusses cooperation prospects in Selangor

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 June 2019, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia jointly with the Klang Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCCI) organized a “round table” dedicated to economic, investment and tourist potential of the republic. About 30 Malaysian companies took part in the round table.

As part of the event, the Malaysian side was thoroughly acquainted with the favorable conditions created in the republic for doing business, measures taken to support the development of hotel construction, large-scale economic reforms (including monetary policy), free economic zones, the trade and economic potential of the country and Khorezm region, including the Free Economic Zone "Hazorasp", as well as with an "investment visa" and upcoming major events organized in the country.

During his speech, KCCCI Vice President Andrew Goh gave a high assessment to the reforms undertaken by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Miriziyev to liberalize the economy and improve the business climate and expressed great interest in further strengthening bilateral cooperation, in particular by organizing the visit of members of the chamber to our country, export supplies fruit and vegetable production in Malaysia and implementation of investment projects in various sectors of the economy.

As a result of the event, an agreement was reached on organizing a visit of Chamber members led by KCCCI Vice President Andrew Goh to Uzbekistan for meetings with the leadership of the Ministry of Investment and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, the cooperation exchange (B2B), and participation in the international investment forum InnoWeek 2019.

Within the framework of the planned visit of this delegation, a trip to the Khorezm and Namangan regions will be organized to hold joint business forums and establish direct contacts between the business circles of these regions and the state of Selangor.

Agreements have been reached to establish cooperation between the logistics and forwarding companies of the two countries.
