Uzbek Entrepreneurs to Receive Compensation for Zipline and Rope Park Construction

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Beginning from 1 July 2025, a temporary regulation will come into effect in Uzbekistan, allowing entrepreneurs implementing extreme tourism projects to receive government subsidies for the construction of ziplines and rope parks (taiparks). The relevant resolution was adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers on 19 June.

State support will be provided for the development of these attractions in mountainous and desert regions across 38 districts and cities in the country. Subsidies will be granted in the following amounts:

up to 100 million Uzbek soums for the construction of a zipline at least 200 meters in length;

up to 80 million Uzbek soums for building a rope park with a minimum area of 150 square meters.

Funding will be allocated from the Tourism Support Fund under the Tourism Committee and transferred to the entrepreneur only after the facility has been completed and put into operation. The regulation remains in force until 1 January 2027.

The program aims to stimulate the growth of active and extreme tourism in remote areas, attract investment, expand tourism infrastructure, and create new jobs.

Applications for reimbursement may be submitted provided the following conditions are met:

the entrepreneur must not be undergoing reorganization or liquidation, nor be declared insolvent by a court decision;

their business operations must not be temporarily suspended.

The application must be accompanied by:

a copy of the document confirming ownership or use rights for the land plot;

a copy of the project’s design and cost estimate documentation;

a copy of the acceptance certificate confirming the completion of construction;

a permit from the Committee on Industrial, Radiation, and Nuclear Safety authorizing the commissioning and operation of the facility.

Applications are reviewed within 10 working days, and this period may be extended by an additional 10 days if further examination is required. Once approved, the subsidy is transferred to the entrepreneur’s account within 10 days.

In the event of rejection, the entrepreneur may reapply within 14 working days after addressing the issues indicated. The resubmitted application will be reviewed within 7 working days.

With this initiative, the authorities aim to stimulate the development of extreme tourism in the regions and create favorable conditions for active investors in the tourism sector.
