Uzbek Diplomats Hold Talks in Bucharest on Expanding Bilateral Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan conducted a working visit to Bucharest, the agency reported.
During the visit, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Poland, Amirsayid Agzamkhodzhaev, held meetings with Ana Cinka, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania; Gabriel-Bogdan Steco, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism; Horatiu-Lucian Cosma, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure; Daniela David, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Labor, Family, Youth, and Social Solidarity; Titus Corlatean, Chair of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs; Hajdu Gabor, Chair of the Chamber of Deputies Committee on Foreign Policy; Nushea Choman, Director of the Main Department for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs; and Catalin Dan, Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The delegation was fully supported by Uzbekistan’s Honorary Consul in Romania, Ramona Menescu, who participated in all meetings.
The Romanian side highly appreciated the broad reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan as part of its economic modernization and expressed readiness to support their further advancement. Bucharest emphasized that it views Tashkent as a key partner in Central Asia and is interested in developing mutually beneficial cooperation.
“Romania was among the first countries to recognize Uzbekistan’s independence. There are no political disagreements between our states, which we highly value. Moreover, our positions on many international and regional issues coincide,” highlighted Ana Cinka, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania.
The participants noted the positive momentum in bilateral relations and discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in political, trade and economic, parliamentary, transport and logistics, migration, and cultural and humanitarian spheres.
