Uzbek Delegation Visits Lahore and Okara to Discuss Cooperation in Meat and Potato Industries
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 19 to 20 February, an Uzbek delegation visited the cities of Lahore and Okara in Pakistan as part of a business trip supported by the Embassy of Uzbekistan. The delegation included representatives from the banking sector, agriculture, veterinary services, and quarantine authorities.
During the visit, and together with Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtaev, the delegation held talks with executives of major meat-processing companies, including Zenith, Tazij Meats, Abedin International, Anis Associates, Go Food, and Quality Meat. Discussions focused on joint cattle breeding, the establishment of meat storage facilities and distribution centers, as well as logistics and product export.
The parties also evaluated compliance with international standards and certification procedures. As a result of the meetings, an agreement was reached to prepare commercial proposals for the development of livestock farming and the expansion of meat exports to Uzbekistan.
On the second day, the delegation visited companies engaged in potato cultivation and export, including Chase International, FFF Traders, Al Khas Trading, Jamshaid Traders, and Madina Enterprises. Special attention was given to advanced production technologies and the organization of export processes.
Following the visit, measures were agreed upon to expand potato production in Uzbek regions, improve quality, and implement joint projects utilizing Pakistani expertise.
The visit highlighted the readiness of both countries to strengthen cooperation in the agricultural sector and create conditions for mutually beneficial development of the meat and potato industries.
