Uzbek Delegation Studies South Korea’s Experience in Supporting Startups and Entrepreneurship

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan visited South Korea as part of the “Development of Rural Entrepreneurship in the Ferghana Valley” project, focusing on studying the country’s experience in supporting startups and developing an innovation ecosystem.

During the visit, participants met with the leadership of the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development (KISEd) and familiarized themselves with national programs supporting entrepreneurship. Particular attention was given to sharing experience in launching startups, training young entrepreneurs, and creating business incubators.

The delegation also visited Seoul National University of Science and Technology, where programs such as the Startup Support Foundation, Startup Training Programs, Student Startup Support, and Business Incubation Support are implemented. These initiatives provide students and young people with opportunities to test business ideas and bring them to market.

During the discussions, both sides explored ways to adapt South Korean models of startup support in Uzbekistan. The university expressed its readiness to jointly implement educational and entrepreneurial programs, including exchanges of specialists and students.

As a result of the visit, agreements were reached on joint initiatives: implementing startup support mechanisms in collaboration with KISEd, organizing experience-sharing programs with Seoul National University of Science and Technology, and involving Uzbek youth in startup programs.
