Uzbek Delegation Participates in AFSN Plenary Session in Incheon

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The plenary session of the Asian Forensic Science Network (AFSN) and a meeting of the Asia-Pacific Medico-Legal Agencies Association (APMLA) are currently underway in Incheon, South Korea. The forum is attended by a delegation from the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan and the H. Suleymanova Republican Forensic Center.

During the sessions, representatives of the Center held meetings with Lee Bong Woo, Vice President of the AFSN Board of Governors and Head of the National Forensic Service of the Republic of Korea; Danilo Alamban Bakas, member of the AFSN Board of Governors; Yanko Kolev, President of the International Association of Forensic Sciences (IAFS); Claude Rue, Director of the Forensic Science Center at the University of Technology Sydney; and Duarte Vieira, Professor at the University of Coimbra.

In the discussions, the Uzbek delegation presented information on the ongoing reforms and achievements in the country’s forensic sector and explored opportunities to expand international cooperation.

Special attention was given to establishing a partnership between the Uzbek Forensic Center and the National Forensic Service of the Republic of Korea. The meeting concluded with an agreement to prepare a memorandum of cooperation for signing.

Additionally, talks with IAFS President Yanko Kolev addressed further avenues for collaboration and the participation of the Uzbek delegation in the upcoming plenary session of the International Association of Forensic Sciences.
