Uzbek delegation meets with the Minister of State for Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 3 October, within the framework of the visit of the government delegation, a meeting was held with the Minister of State for Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, H. Makihara.
The meeting discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, affecting the field of investment, trade, economic and financial cooperation.
The role of the activities of the Japanese-Uzbek and Uzbek-Japanese committees on economic cooperation was emphasized: the results of recent meetings were examined in detail and actions to accelerate the implementation of the agreements reached were coordinated, as well as proposals to improve the format of these structures to ensure systemic intergovernmental interaction.
Particular attention during the discussion was paid to measures to increase trade turnover, in connection with which the issues of optimizing tariff and non-tariff regulation of trade and cooperation in the field of certification, standardization and promotion of products were studied. In this context, the Japanese side expressed its readiness to create favorable conditions in its market for Uzbek producers of agricultural and textile products, taking into account its adaptation to Japanese standards.
At the end of the dialogue, an interdepartmental plan of joint actions was formulated for a concrete study of the agreements reached.
