Uzbek Delegation Holds Series of Meetings at European Parliament and EU Institutions

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Kutbiddin Burkhanov, Chairman of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Defense and Security, is visiting Brussels.

During the visit, the Uzbek delegation held a series of meetings with representatives of the European Union and the European Parliament. In discussions with Ilhan Kyuchyuk, Chairman of the European Parliament’s Committee on Legal Affairs, the parties addressed ways to strengthen bilateral political dialogue and expand interparliamentary cooperation.

In a meeting with a member of the Belgian Senate, Chair of the Belgium–Uzbekistan Friendship League Stephanie D’Oz, prospects for developing interparliamentary ties and deepening economic cooperation were discussed.

At a meeting with European Parliament member Thomas Zdechovsky, the parties exchanged views on expanding interparliamentary dialogue, enhancing regional stability, and promoting trade and economic relations.

The delegation also discussed opportunities for cooperation between relevant parliamentary committees through experience-sharing and joint events.
