Uzbek delegation attends CAREC meeting
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
A delegation of Uzbekistan led by Minister for Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan Elyor Ganiev attended the 1 4th Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Ministerial Conference in Mongolia.
At the event, the participants considered development of mutual beneficial regional cooperation, including implementation of joint measures and projects in modernization of transport and logistics infrastructure, forming efficient transit corridors, energy sector.
The attendees also considered issues of improving customs administration (including introduction of ICT and one-stop-shop systems), as well as strengthening cooperation in sanitary and phytosanitary measures, etc.
The ministerial conference adopted a joint communiqué, which determined priority directions of cooperation for perspective.
The delegation of Uzbekistan held bilateral meetings with the President of Asian Development Bank (ADB) Takehiko Nakao and regional director of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Toshinobu Kato.
