Uzbek customs service seizes 223 kg of drugs

The press service of the Committee said that the law enforcement bodies detained citizens E. Rajabov and I. Jurakulov in Surkhandarya region. They were arrested during the deal. The officers detained 11 kg of opium.

The customs officers arrested citizen of Afghanistan Abdulhakim Mohammadkulov in Surkhandarya region. He was detained when he was trying to cross Amudarya river in self-made boat. He had 20.3 kg of opium and Kalashnikov rifle with 24 bullets.

Another citizen of Afghanistan Shohjahon Ziyo was also detained with he was trying to cross Amurdaro river with 64.6 kg of opium.

Currently, investigations are underway on above mention cases.

During independence years, the customs officers seized about 30 tonnes of drugs, inkling opium, marihuana, heroin, etc.
