Uzbek Competition Committee Names 66 Companies With Superior Bargaining Power

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Competition Committee of Uzbekistan has updated its list of companies recognized as possessing superior bargaining power without holding a dominant market position, according to an official statement on 24 November.

Under Article 14 of the country’s Competition Law, such power is defined as the ability to unilaterally influence the terms of a transaction, territory, or product pricing. This status may apply to individual companies or groups of entities.

The regulator said it is currently reviewing paid parking operators in Tashkent to assess compliance with the criteria for superior bargaining power. Simultaneously, the Committee published a new list of 66 enterprises granted this designation.

The updated list spans all regions of Uzbekistan and covers 11 sectors. Most of the companies—54 in total—operate in household waste collection and disposal, holding preferential positions in specific districts and mahallas.

Six companies were recognized for their control over railway operations, including:

  • Interterminal at Sergeli station, Tashkent
  • Binokor Temir Yo’l Xizmati at Andijan-1 station, Andijan region
  • Shargunkumir on the Sariosiyo–Togchiyon section, Surkhandarya region
  • Termiz Oil Base in the Yangikhayot mahalla of Jarkurgan district, Surkhandarya region
  • Navoiy Temir Yo’l Transporti in the Navoiy industrial zone
  • Syrdarya TPP in Shirin city

Two firms were recognized in the liquefied gas storage sector: Baxtli Sherzod in Bukhara region and Oltiarik Gaz Tuldirish in Ferghana region.

Internet provider CityNet received the status for its operations within the Index Tashkent shopping complex. The insurance company My Insurance was granted the designation in the segment of farmer credit insurance in Karakalpakstan, issued through the local branch of Agrobank.

The Committee published its first list in July 2025, which included 31 organizations, such as the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex and Neftgaz Tadkikot.
