Uzbek Citizens Top Road Accident Statistics in Russia, but Not Always at Fault
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Experts from the Road Safety Scientific Center of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (RSNC) have released statistics on road traffic accidents involving foreign nationals for the period from 1 January to 30 September 2025.
According to analysts, the highest number of accidents over the nine-month period involved citizens of Uzbekistan. Specifically, Uzbek nationals were involved in 827 traffic accidents, 18% fewer than during the same period last year.
Citizens of Kazakhstan occupy the lowest position in this ranking with 128 accidents, a 21% decrease compared to January–September 2024.
When evaluating the situation using the “fault coefficient”—the proportion of accidents caused by the driver—drivers from Tajikistan lead. They were involved in 666 accidents, 14% fewer than last year, and were directly responsible in 67% of these cases.
Uzbek drivers rank second in this metric, with a fault coefficient of nearly 65%. They are followed by drivers from Armenia and Azerbaijan, whose share of at-fault accidents stands at 64%.
The lowest fault coefficient is recorded among Belarusian drivers, at just over 50%.
