Uzbek Citizens to Be Able to Choose Their Own Bank for Salary Payments

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan plans to introduce new mechanisms aimed at fostering competition in the financial market, expanding payment infrastructure, and enhancing transaction security.

These measures are outlined in the fintech support “roadmap,” approved by presidential decree.

Specifically, by the end of 2025, the Central Bank will develop measures to eliminate “salary dependency,” allowing citizens to independently choose the bank or electronic provider through which they receive their salaries.

By June 2026, a mass parallel payout function will be implemented in state payment systems, enabling employers to transfer salaries simultaneously to multiple banks.

Additionally, by February 2026, the Central Bank will introduce P2P transfers between individuals using mobile phone numbers within the fast payment system.

This feature will be available to payment service providers through an Open API, allowing integration with any applications.
