Uzbek Citizen Dies in Accident at Supreme Court Construction Site in Saint Petersburg
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An Uzbek citizen died in Saint Petersburg as a result of an accident at a construction site. According to the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Saint Petersburg, on 16 September 2025, 23-year-old A.U. Amirov, a native of Surkhandarya region who had been in the city since April working as a metal structures assembler, fell from a height of 15 meters while performing installation work at the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation and the Judicial Department under the Supreme Court at 14 Dobrolyubova Avenue.
The body of the deceased has been sent to the morgue, and investigative authorities are conducting an inquiry, including considering the possibility of initiating a criminal case.
The Consulate General and the Migration Agency’s representative office are in contact with the deceased’s family and are providing comprehensive assistance in arranging the repatriation of the body to Uzbekistan.
