He said: “Now we have unique opportunity. South Korea became the first country, which presented us an opportunity to participate in public procurement.”
At the same time, he added that the businesses of Uzbekistan now are not using this opportunity fully. He said unfortunately small number of businesses is participating in this process, but still there is such opportunity and it should be grabbed.
Alisher Shayhov said that trade turnover between two nations made up US$2.121 billion in 2013, but the major part fell to share of imports from South Korea. He stated that businesses of Uzbekistan should increase exports volume to South Korea.
He said that there are products to import from South Korea, including equipment, which are used in industry. But Uzbekistan should export products, he added. He called businesses of Uzbekistan to establish partnership ties with Korean companies and start to export goods to South Korea.
