Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Memorandum between the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and De Monfort University was signed in London.

The document envisages the development of cooperation in the scientific and educational sphere, including training and retraining of personnel, conducting joint scientific research, as well as transfer of technology and knowledge to the pharmaceutical industry of Uzbekistan.

The memorandum was signed during a working visit to the UK by the Uzbek delegation, headed by Agency Director S. Kariev.

At a meeting with the leadership of the British University, the prospects for the development of cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry were discussed.

Following the talks, the parties agreed to open a joint pharmaceutical university in Uzbekistan based on British educational standards.

It is planned that the new university will have its own campus and scientific and technical park, in which deep scientific research will be carried out to develop new and popular medicines on the market with the establishment of their industrial production.

It is worth recalling that the delegation of De Monfort University paid a visit to Uzbekistan on 9-11 October to familiarize themselves with the activities of the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute and conduct an analysis of the needs and opportunities for creating a new university.
