Uzbek Athletes Win 16 Medals at Youth Games in Bahrain
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The third day of the III Asian Youth Games in Bahrain concluded with impressive results for Team Uzbekistan, who secured a total of 16 medals: 5 gold, 5 silver, and 6 bronze.
Two gold medals were won by weightlifter Munisbek Davletov, who triumphed in the 88 kg category in both the snatch and the clean & jerk. Additional golds went to Dilafruz Boltaboeva in judo (under 40 kg), Abubakr Sattorov in judo (under 55 kg), and Bunyod Rufatov in freestyle wrestling (under 80 kg).
Silver medals were claimed by Alina Kolyuchyova (judo, under 44 kg), Davlat Akhrorov (judo, under 60 kg), Shahobiddin Nurmanov (freestyle wrestling, under 48 kg), Shokhista Shonazarova (freestyle wrestling, under 43 kg), and Shakhnoza Khaydarova (weightlifting, 69 kg snatch).
Bronze medalists included Shokhzahon Usmonov (judo, under 50 kg), Zukhra Alimova (judo, under 52 kg), Abdumalik Jaloldinov (freestyle wrestling, under 55 kg), Shokhiddin Aliev (freestyle wrestling, under 65 kg), Dilnura Avezova (freestyle wrestling, under 57 kg), and Mukhayo Rakhimjonova (freestyle wrestling, under 69 kg).
The strong performance highlights Uzbekistan’s growing prominence in youth sports on the Asian stage.
