Uzbek and Polish Senators Discuss Expanding Interparliamentary Cooperation and Trade
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Alisher Agzamkhodjaev, Chairman of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investments, and Tourism, held a meeting with a delegation from the Senate of the Republic of Poland, led by Bogdan Borusevich, Chairman of the Commission on Emigration and Relations with Poles Abroad.
The meeting focused on ways to expand parliamentary cooperation between Uzbekistan and Poland, strengthen historic ties of friendship, and enhance collaboration in the cultural and humanitarian spheres. Particular attention was given to increasing bilateral trade through interparliamentary mechanisms, expanding Uzbek exports to European Union markets, establishing trade houses, and implementing joint projects in trade, economic development, investment, tourism, education, and interregional cooperation.
The discussion also highlighted the compassion and hospitality of the Uzbek people toward Polish citizens who were deported to Uzbekistan during World War II, with respect paid to the memory of Poles buried on Uzbek soil.
Bogdan Borusevich expressed deep gratitude to the Uzbek people for the humanitarian aid provided to Poland during the war, as well as for the care and improvements made to Polish cemeteries in Uzbekistan.
