Uzbek and Kazakh Interior Ministers discuss issues of combating crime

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan Pulat Bobojonov and Minister of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan Kalmukhanbet Kasymov held talks in Samarkand, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan said.

The ministers of the two countries discussed a number of issues of paramount importance.

In particular, the parties discussed strengthening cooperation between the two countries’ internal affairs bodies in fighting crime, further development of cross-border cooperation, exchange of practical experience, including in lawmaking.

Kalmukhanbet Kasymov also dwelled on prospects for cooperation, measures to counter cross-border crime, extremism and terrorism, development of a mechanism for establishing closer working contacts, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan said.

The parties signed a joint order on establishment of a coordination group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

After the event, the participants made an excursion around the city of Samarkand, visited ancient monuments of architecture and architecture, got acquainted with the sights of the pearl of the East.
