Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 13 April 2020, with the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in London, a videoconference was organized between Uzbek and British doctors to exchange experience on the prevention and treatment of new coronavirus infection COVID-19. This was reported by the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by the Director of the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimatology of the London University Hospital Lusham Dr. Wakas Khalid, doctors Richard Frieze and Fazliddin Murodov from the British side. From the Uzbek side - representatives of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Aid, as well as anesthesiology and intensive care from all regions of the country.

During the videoconference, the specialists of the two countries exchanged information in detail on the measures taken to combat coronavirus, the actions of medical institutions in diagnosing and treatment methods for patients.

Particular attention is paid to the latest techniques for the treatment of critically ill patients in intensive care units. Great interest in the British side was caused by the scientific research of Uzbek colleagues on the treatment of patients with the use of blood plasma who had been ill and plans for the widespread introduction of this technique in the country's clinics.

According to the parties, the dialogue was very useful and made it possible to enrich the knowledge about the new coronavirus and its treatment methods. An agreement was reached on further maintaining contacts and holding similar events on a regular basis.
