Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 18 April, a videoconference was held by Uzbek and British doctors on the topic “Control and safety measures for pregnant women during the distribution of COVID-19,” organized with the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in London and the Ministry of Health of the republic, Dunyo reported.
The Uzbek side was attended by employees of the Main Directorate for Maternal and Child Welfare of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as specialists and obstetrician-gynecologists from all regions of the country.
The group of British participants included a group of specialists from the Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone Hospital, led by obstetrician-gynecologist in the field of stimulation and obstetrics O. Wildman.
During the video conference, participants exchanged information on measures taken to prevent and assist pregnant women in the context of the coronavirus epidemic. The importance of the widespread use of online, telephone and video counseling for pregnant women in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the need for systematic monitoring of the health of women with various diseases, especially endocrinological and cardiovascular, was emphasized.
The participants in the videoconference paid attention to the issues of diagnosing pregnant women with coronavirus, safe delivery of their births, as well as the features of postpartum rehabilitation. A special technique for caring for newborns in women with confirmed COVID-19 disease has been discussed.
Based on the results of a thorough and useful dialogue between the doctors of the two countries, an agreement was reached on establishing an operational exchange of information on new methods for the prevention and treatment of patients with coronavirus.
