Uzbek Ambassador to Washington visits Dalles Muslim Community Center

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 13 December 2019, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Washington, Javlon Wahabov, visited the Dalles Muslim Community Center in Sterling during a trip to the US east coast. (Virginia), reports the Foreign Ministry.

The All Dulles Area Muslim Society (“ADAMS”) is a Muslim religious education center and has 7 affiliates in different states of the United States.

As part of the Friday worship service prayer, the Ambassador presented the great potential of pilgrimage tourism to our country, informed about the rich historical and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, the preservation and promotion of traditional Islamic values in society, as well as measures taken to ensure religious freedom in the country.

Addressing the parishioners, the chief imam of the mosque, the head of the ADAMS Center, Imam Majid, welcomed the great importance attached by the leadership of the republic to promoting the ideas of enlightened Islam: “Uzbekistan is a model for the world community as a country that has been able to preserve the true essence of Islam, implement the best practices of its education, to create the strongest Uzbek school for the training of qualified specialists - Islamic scholars. ”

In November, Imam Majid visited Tashkent and Samarkand as part of the religious leaders of the United States - rabbis, imams and pastors from the states of Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Washington, participated in the Uzbek-American forum for the promotion of religious freedoms, as well as a scientific and practical seminar on interfaith harmony and religious tolerance held at the Imam Al-Bukhari Research Center in Samarkand.

As Imam Majid noted, “Uzbekistan is the pearl of Islamic civilization, where for centuries the atmosphere of creation reigned, leading theologians and scientists worked, and advanced scientific works were developed.” He especially emphasized the contribution of Imam Al-Bukhari, whose books are considered the second most important in Islam after the Koran, Al-Khwarizmi - the greatest mathematician of all time, Avicenna - the founder of modern medicine.

Following the meeting at the ADAMS Center, an agreement was reached on organizing a visit in the spring of 2020 to our country of the first group of American tourists representing the Muslim community of the United States.
